The founding nucleus
The founding nucleus of the master’s degree is the academic node which, in the Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar, is studying the multiple relationships between development and culture. The node brings together researchers from different disciplines from the Departments of Economic and Administrative Sciences and Social and Human Sciences. Colombian and foreign academics joined together to construct the academic proposal for the master’s program.
After studying the main tendencies and currents of academic-research discourse on the concepts and the relationships between development and culture, the node proposed the initiative of the master’s degree to the UTB, later identifying the body of theoretical, contextual and methodological bases that structure the curriculum of the program, as well as the lines of research and exploration of the participants in the program.
The formation of professionals with analytic skills and debating competency, capable of elaborating proposals that contribute to the human development of countries, regions and localities through their incorporation in the project formulation process, and policy design and decision-making in the public and private sectors, which include culture, seen from an interdisciplinary perspective as both the means and the end of development.
