Strategies to achieve development from a cultural perspective

The Inter-American Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Culture and Development (L+iD) is a space for the study and exploration of strategies and projects leading toward strengthening the role of culture in development strategies, contributing to the advancement of local, national, international and multilateral projects in the development and culture code. 
 
Aware of the decades of work of a great number of actors from different countries, the Laboratory has as its mission the creation of space for cooperation among specialized researchers, or those who incorporate this dimension into their work, with the objective of exchanging lines of research and achieving greater visibility for these studies.

The Laboratory and overcoming poverty
 
The laboratory attempts to generate a system of collaboration within a community that is capable of contributing knowledge to obtain a better articulation between culture and development in the current world and on the agendas of international organisms. It is comprised of researchers, university professors, professionals with considerable experience, and experts who contribute their knowledge and experience to the generation of research, innovation, evaluation and technical assistance projects.
 
The laboratory is concerned with the theoretical-practical issues of development and with adequate policies for overcoming poverty, from which Cartagena de Indias, as the principal headquarters becomes a space of singular importance for the research. Its structure guaranties the international mobility of its members and efficiency in the development and administration of resources for the implementation of initiatives.
